Takeover Of Ants!!!

I mix confectioners sugar and borax 1:1, leave it dry. fill bottle caps on dry days and leave them around, the ants will bring the borax to the queen thinking it is sugar. Queen dead, colony gone. Guaranteed results ;)

How can I get rid of an ant hill?? Since it has gotten warmer out I have noticed I have an ant hill forming. Its been progressively getting worse each day. The ants are near my chickens and ducks runs. I tried putting down DE. I waited for a nice warm day with no expectations of rain all week. It's almost like the DE isn't phasing them. I don't want to use anything that could potentially hurt or kill my chickens/ducks. That was why I got the food grade DE. Everything else I see on the market shouldn't be used around or ingested by animals. Any recommendations for something safe and effective to use is greatly appreciated :)
Use tonic water!! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W5X9WS5

Just pour liberally over the ant hill. Ant hill disappears overnight. I've used it on huge ant hills in my yard. Gone!

DE isn't effective and is harmful for you and your birds to breathe.
We always used the borax baits in a safe place or grits.
Yeah, I think I killed a couple of hens with DE. I thought all DE was the same but it is not. I was using a non-food grade DE. I don't use DE at all anymore.

Question: Will Borax hurt chickens?
I use Borax for ants around the farm. I have avoided using it around the outside of the coop and where they free range because, as you all know, the chickens will peck at anything.

It might but you just need to put it where they can't reach it.
Both food grade and non food grade of DE is harmful.

I've never see chickens eat ants, they're bitter and acidic.
You can do either, just stick the baits where the birds can't reach, like in a bottle or can
If something isn't safe for you, it's worse for birds since their respiratory system takes up most of their body and is pretty delicate.
I put some in there this evening because the ants were insane! Red fire ants! Will it harm my chickens this one time? I will try to remove what I can in the morning…

No, it won't hurt them in brief exposure but it's likely not to do anything for the ants.
You also mentioned something about grits?
Supposedly, when ants eat grits it expands and kills them.

Empty 2-3 capsules into spray bottle. Add water. Shake and spray.
The capsules human ivermectin strength not cattle/livestock ivermectin.

Please explain the safety of ivermectin for chickens. In this case, if one were to spray liberally on the ground where the ants are, and then the chickens run through this, would they not absorb the ivermectin. So, at what point is the ivermectin then a health hazard to chickens?
