I have 3 babies that I hatched from some of pidgey's eggs, they hatched a few days after christmas and are so much fun! They are just starting to get their adult feathers in and they are shiny and green in the sun. They are also fun to hold because of their squishiness, lol. Great ducks, very laid back.

how hard is it to incubat these? i have never incubated ducks only chickens, so how different is it to incubat duck eggs from chicken eggs? i really want to get some but wont be able to get any till later in the year

not too hard :) I have some from my ducks and so far its been pretty easy. You just have to make sure the temp and humidity is right and doesn't change. Then when it gets to day 26 you have to drop the temp down just a little and raise the humidity higher so they don't shrink wrap.

I set 8 of mine and so far just one has hatched but because I wasn't here to make sure the humidity was high I relied on a friend and she didn't keep the humidity high enough so I lost 4 so I have three left that are pipping. :) but other than that nope.. You have to turn the eggs like 5 times a day if you don't get a egg turner.. I <3 ducks and can't wait to get these eggs.

No worries mine like to do that to lol my mallard hen likes to drop them outside in the run where I can't reach so I have to get a board and gently pull them towards me. My runners like to lay in one corner. Love the really dark ones those are some cool colors.

I hope the ducklings that come from those ones are hens :) one friend asked me if those were for eating I about fainted lol. I go nope those aren't yummy those are for hatching lol she goes oooo even better lol.
