Taking out a Rooster and Replacing with a hen?

I think you will be happier. Getting the rooster out will not upset your girls. An all hen flock is a nice flock to start with, let you get some experience. 5 hens will give plenty of eggs here shortly. You have years to try different aspects of this hobby if you want to later on.
