Taking Photographs of Sleeping Adult Chickens

You are a heavy walker and can't sneak up on anybody I see. Get rid of the army boots.

LOL, I don't know about Aart, but I don't wear army boots and my chickens look just like these when I try to sneak up on them at night. I've never seen a head tucked after 8 or 10 weeks old! I was thinking maybe it was a certain breed or something. Now I have packed snow that squeaks loudly when I walk on it. No way I can approach quietly until the snow melts. But @centrarchid, you've got me totally wanting to do this now. I have a crittercam, but it's activated by movement, so I don't think it would take pictures if they were all asleep and quiet.

Nah  not a heavy walker and wasn't trying to sneak.
Don't think it has much to do with sneaking anyway, they are pretty attuned to any disturbance...tho they are used to me being in coop at night to head count, lock up....or do exams. During exam weeks they are more likely to react...'who's she gonna grab this time'?

I see your problem and it is serious. The birds are treating you like some humans treat aliens doing butt probe sampling. They are on a alert. LOL
