Talapia....any suggestions?

Our favorite is tilapia with tapenade. Minced garlic, oil cured black olives, tomatoes (we prefer sun-dried in olive oil), basil, salt and black pepper. I wrap them in foil packets with paper thin slices of potatoes as a base and grill or bake in the oven until the packets "puff". Serve with salad and crusty bread.

If you want to bake it I always do this with any fish.
Fish fellets on the bottom of a baking dish.
1 container of sour cream mixed with 1 can of cream of mushroom or celery soup.
Place chopped onion over fellets
place shredded chedar over onions
cover with sour cream soup mix
I cover this with foil and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes or until we remember and come in from outside..lol the foil helps it from drying out when I forget..
Take the foil off and add more cheese and put back in for another 10 to 15 minutes. It is great, Jenn

I am usually quite the gourmet: Tilapia is 'Mama's night off'. Like others have posted, it needs a sauce. I just cover it with McCormack's teriyaki, bake for 20 minutes. Serve with (quick) steamed rice & broccoli.
This is a really healthy dinner in a half hour.

I just season it with Emeril's Essence (BAM!) and saute it quickly in a little olive oil. The most important thing is not to overcook it. It only takes a few minutes on each side on medium high heat. As soon as you can easily stick in a fork on the thick end and gently pull apart, it's done. Take it out of the pan.

Tilapia tacos are always a good bet. Just pan fry with olive oil, salt and pepper, or bread it with panko. Break off pieces and tuck it into a tortilla with your normal taco toppings. It's really fast and tasty.

WARNING Tilapia i read is a farm raised fish in most cases shipped to the US. They feed it mostly cornmeal and they are considered to be worst then eating bacon. Not very healthy eating fish.

I had Talapia one time, and never again, I though it was the worst tasting fish I ever ate.
