Umbra looked into the deep lake, and was about to call for Aegaeon, but decided not to, just because he probably couldn't hear her.

Aegaeon had very sharp hearing and heard Umbra's intake of breath as she was about to say something an stopped. He glanced upward but did nothing.
Emry swam with ease and looked behind her to see that Mari did not have as much ease as her. She swam back, "You haven't really been in the water for awhile, have you?"Mari followed Emry in the lake, dodging coral reefs and fish.
Umbra saw that Aegaeon was looking at her. She waved. "Hi," she said, doubting that he would hear her.
