Talk to me about bees, please!

You should be fine. The bees in all likelihood will leave you alone unless you're in the hive. I do wear a hood, but no gloves and wear a regular shirt and jeans.

I presently have two hives here at home and two at my parents house. My dad is allergic and has had no problems.

Bees will range out for quite a ways and won't be all flying around your acre except to come and go. . . even if you have a lot of plantings, one acre isn't enough for them to stay put.

Relax and enjoy them. Bees are a good thing to have.

I am not afraid of them personally, but my kids are and I know how the fear factor plays into getting stung. My brother was attacked by a hive in Texas many years ago....it was really bad so it left on mental scar.
