Talk to your eggs?

I don't know if I talked to my eggs because I didn't think it would make a difference but I definetly would now! I chirped at them and when one wiggled I'd be like "YAYY!!!" I noticed that when I had a lot of people in the room talking there would be more chirps (at about day 20 before hatching that is lol). I think they like the voices. Maybe it encourages them to hatch? That's what I like to think. I remember the day before they hatched or so there was this chirper in the incubator and it kept chirping. So I started chirping at it. And it kept chirping back at me.

You are not insane for talking to your eggs. I know I will if I hatch some more!!

Of course...my husband thinks I'm nuts. I lean over the bator and tell them what good eggs they are and that I'm expecting them all to do their very best when hatching

When they're hatching, I tell them "C'mon babies!!"

I got an idea. Im going to do an experiment during my next batches of eggs. Im going to get another incubator, same as the one I already got. One batch of eggs I will do alot of talking and chirping and eveyrthing u can imagion while the other, Im not going to do any of that (just the regular requirements) and see what the results are.

Haha I'm sure my family thinks I'm nuts. And to your previous question maybe it is bad to talk to them early... I never thought of it but maybe it does make them hatch prematurely. Mine hatched day 20 and some day 21 so they were a day early. I talked to them and peeped at them quite a bit too. Someone should do an experiment!

Have one batch of eggs that don't get talked to and another in a really busy talkative room!

Ha ha! You guys were posting at the same time with the same idea! And I think it's a great idea, too--McCord I hope you do it and post the results. Make sure the "no talk" bator's in a separate, quiet room.

isn't it great when 2 people think alike? LOL!
Im keeping the "talkative" bator in my room while the "silent" bator will be in the kitchen. No one ever goes in the kitchen unless they are hungry so all is good. Also, The talkative bator will be all hands on. I will be moving the eggs by hands and such while the silent bator will have a automatic turner. All I will be doing is checking the temp/humidity.

I dont call to them anymore. I use to call Chick Chick Chick,& several would die strugling to get out of the egg. I leave them alone now & have a much better outcome.........Your test with 2 bators will only work if you can keep identical temps& humidity.
