Talkinboutchickens' butterfly/caterpillar thread🦋🐛

nice ! if you can post pics i would love to see
The one in the pot is the Meyer. All the taller growth is new this summer. The one in the ground, while still small, actually grew nicely despite it being a caterpillar buffet, lol.

We wanted a bigger tree to begin with, but we went through this weird phase where we could not find any citrus here at all. It was very strange because it's normally abundant.

omg hi everyone, so happy you found this thread! @Gazergirlstar, I'm really glad that you're enjoying this whole caterpillar experience- And, @ChickenChick46, it's awesome that you already have lemon trees, I didn't know that that's a host plant for a species! I've always wanted a lemon tree anyway bc I love lemons, but we live in Michigan so it's probably not the right climate.:(

I bet you could grow them in pots if you've got an indoor space for the winter. The first winter we had ours, we didn't have a greenhouse yet. They lived in my guest room, happily, all winter long. That room has west facing windows so they got plenty of light.
