tame canary breeding season question

hey everyone i was curious about something, i read canaries are solitary outside of the breeding season so if someone were to raise a canary would it only be sociable or friendly during the breeding season and aloof outside of it?

hey everyone i was curious about something, i read canaries are solitary outside of the breeding season so if someone were to raise a canary would it only be sociable or friendly during the breeding season and aloof outside of it?

My guess is that you are wondering if a canary would be less approachable by people when not the canary breeding season. I raised canaries 30 years ago; I do not remember any difference in personality towards me in season or out.

Yep.. always friendly to their human friends no matter what the season.

Only really get friendly with the opposite sex bird in the breeding season. Males always don't like other male canaries no matter when.

Females can mix together outside the breeding season in flocks.. as can the young of both sexes.
