Hello Y'all from Kentucky, So this spring I bought 6 Artesian Gold Poults, I have 3 left, A huge Rat snake got one which I tried to save but too much trauma. @ lost to "sour Crop" Still not sure why or the how, but the 3 I have now are as tame as kittens and very very vocal and seem protective of me when My landlord visits the Tom displays and keeps himself between me and any visitor. Can any of you share your experiences with tame Turkeys?

I have only had two, both female. Both very chatty, but I used to bark at them. (Turkey bark not dog bark). Wife got annoyed because a couple of our other poultry picked it up as well.

Ended up having to carry one to bed every night. Such a diva. No fuss or fighting, I started clapping and the flock runs for the pen. She would stop 20' from the door and need to be carried EVERY night.

At first I blamed it on the size. She was close to that age, and then I realized she literally could walk there from five feet away, or run/flap from across the yard and still need to be carried to bed.

Both were hand raised. Here is the diva on the log.
