So ive hatched some baby coturnix quail, they are about 5 days old, but some of them i didnt instantly connect with. One after another they all started popping out of their eggs so they kind of got to know eachother first, and for the past few days ive been more focused on the few that had foot issues, (which ive fixed) and ive bonded more with them, but kind of didnt interact too much with the others. Is seperating them from eachother for a day or so okay? So that im the only one they can interact with so they arent so scared of me because right now they bolt from my hands when i put them next to them. Is there a better way to get them more used to me?

Quail are very unsocial and usually don't like being handled but at one point I only had one chick (her siblings were a little late hatching) so she was an only chick for a while. She imprinted on me really well and would scream if left alone for any longer than 3 minutes. Yet when she got her siblings, they all liked me for a few days then at 1 week old decided to turn their back on our hands.
Anyway, here are some options: You can leave them all together, but they won't imprint on you pretty much at all, which seems to be your problem
or you can seperate all of them and spend alot of time with each one. Depending on how many you have, this might be very difficult to come up with different living quarters
Good job fixing their feet though! That can be a real struggle and all.
It's a very difficult situation - ive been in it myself- because we want them to like us but its their natural instict to run and hide when something out of the norm comes around. I wish i could help more and good luck!
