Taming broody raised chicks...any advice?

Happy to say things seem much better this time around.

Mama hen is relaxing and because I am an annoying human meddler I have held both chicks a few times. They don't cry, they seem quite comfy and relaxed and mama doesn't seem to mind my meddling (as long as the chicks aren't under her).

I do think having such a small clutch helps, with a large clutch if just one starts giving a warning cry then all of the others freak out.
