taming chickens

i inherited some serama chickens around 5 mos. old.They were free range but are now in a large run. I want to make friends but they run away from me - what are the best treats to give them to make them more friendly?

Just sit on the ground and read a book or whatever. Let them come to you. You could put some treats on your legs to encourage them to check you out but don't reach for them. Again, let them approach you. And always move slowly.

It also wouldn't hurt to sprinkle some meal worms or whatever they like near you so the associate you with food and good things.

Mealworms are quite tempting. Sit down on their level with the bag if worms. Hold out your hand, sprinkle some around your legs, let them climb on you. Do this daily and after a while they will trust you more. Speak quietly, walk slowly, eventually they will be begging you to sit with them. Good luck!
