taming help

4 weeks old is kind of old to start taming..but it will come around with treats...also if it is the only one you have then it will be a lot easier...also depends on the breed, what kind is it?

while its two and im not sure of the breed

Just feed them lots of treats...peas are good...dont really try to hold them to much, i dont know any duck that enjoys that.

If they will eat out of your hands do it...you'll probably have to put it in front of them on the ground first and when they like the taste they'll come to you for it...

Great:), thank you very much. One more thing how long do you think it will take? because right now all they do is run away, they almost got into the woods.

firstly those arn't 4 weeks old, they're more like 2-2 1/2 weeks

unless thats an old pic, correct me if I'm wrong

and they'll come around somewhat, but you arn't a duck and never will be, so they'll probably never be "hands on" mine arn't, and I've had most of my ducks since they were babies, with an exception of 6 whom I got when they were already adults/young adults.

my ducks mob me in the mornings when I feed them, they come up to me, but I can't touch any of the older ones.

now the 6 younger ones let me get right close to them, except for the spastic crested pekin, Nikki. Templeton and Jingo I hatched here, Elliot was a TSC duckling who grew up with templeton, and Sparrow,Surobbi, and Nikki are babies from my ducks that a teacher hatched as a project for 1st graders.I gotr them at about a week and a half old, they "supposedly" had been handled from hatch by all the kids, Sparrow was really the only "tame" one, Surobbi being a mallard mix acted very...mallard-y, and Nikki was just...a typicla pekin duckling, spazzy.
Jingo lets me pet her and all that, but I can't pick her up, as is a rule of thumb with most ducks, they don't like being picked up

good luck!
