Taming Pigeons

So I've been interested in pigeons for several years now and I've done a lot of research into them, but I still have just a few questions that I'd like some experienced people to answer.
Would it be better to buy from a breeder or is a feral rescue going to be about as likely to become tame? Is keeping just one cruel considering they're highly social and monogamous? And what are the chances that a pigeon will even be highly personable with taming and handling? If I want a cuddly interactive bird should I just get a very young squab and give it no personal space?

If you want just one pigeon, as a pet, its not a problem. I am assuming you will be keeping indoors. A feral rescue would work just fine. Just keep in a cage, and handle daily. Then graduate to allowing pigeon to fly around inside your room. Offer perch places. You can actually train to be neat in dropping the gumdrops below the perch, onto a newspaper.
If you intend to keep pigeon outdoors in a pigeon loft,, then you need more than just one.
Feral rescue pigeons are not really ideal for you, if you intend to loft fly.
Yes,, there are ways to get baby pigeons, and those will return to your loft,,, BUT the original rescue may head back to its original place, given a chance.
If this is what you desire, (loft flying) that means releasing to fly around, and return to loft,,,,,,, opt for young squabs that have never been released and flown in their home loft.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

Okay good to know. Yes I would keep it primarily indoors, and I would not loft fly as there are TONS of predatory birds in my area, it would be a crying shame to tame a pet only to lose it in that way.
Eventually I'd like an aviary for rescuing disabled pigeons but that won't be for a long while, and even then I'd just like one pet and the rest are free to not like me if they wish.

Thank you so much!
