Hi. I'm Amy, a photographer and chicken keeper in Portland, OR.
I live on a quaint little 1/2 acre in town and try to make the best use of it possible.
Several months ago a friend asked if I could take two of her hens. They were on the bottom of the pecking order and the flock seemed to be trying to kill one. I built a coop lickity split and was thrust into chicken ownership. After a few months with my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and Golden Buff, I decided I wanted more. I acquired a Barred Rock and was able to successfully introduce her to the flock. My 4th and final hen came from the shelter. I have several friends who work there and they asked me to come get her after a period of quarantine. I would guess she's a RIR, but I can't be too sure.
Cheers!
