Nan H
Hatching
I found this in an egg today. Egg probably a week old. Not sure what this is. Is it a tape worm? In the pic it is in 3 parts, but was originally one continuous strand. Close up also provided.

This isn't a tapeworm. The only evidence I can find of worms in eggs are roundworms, which (from what I've seen) don't look like this.Looks like tapeworm. Treatment with flubenvet is usually successful.
All my birds are older. Not sure which hen. Hens are 4-8 years old.It is not a tapeworm.
How old is the bird that laid this?
It is highly possible that one of them has a reproduction type infection going on.All my birds are older. Not sure which hen. Hens are 4-8 years old.
Some shells are thinner.I am not sure what that is but also don't think it is a worm.
Since you say the hens are old, are the shells getting thin, was This egg shell thin?
I've heard that when that happens they will die soon![]()
