Tapeworm? Round Worm? WHAT IS IT!

definitely not impacted but may be sour...dealt with it once before but the bird had much more weight on her.

what about reverse tube feeding...tube sucking-out-the-sourness? I don't really want to make her vomit and have her aspirate

p.s. I've found more pieces of what look like the same worm looking thing in her poops...another piece that was like an end piece in the pic but maybe 1/5 of the length, and a few small tubes, like 2 segments each...

i found a local store that sells valbazen and permethrin so ill go get them today when i run to tampa.

Don't know about the tube things but I did want to say that there was a "sour crop cured with monistat" thread around here.

Gosh she sounds so ill- I hope she pulls through ok!!!

i did see that. i tried sucking out the sourness with my tube feeding equipment but after maybe a couple tube lengths of fluid, baby bird food, grass, etc it got so clogged it wouldnt suck anymore. i'll crush some probiotics into her food for her.

her bum looks better now, i slathered on a bunch of knockoff neosporin on the area and i dont see many larvae at all. got maybe a dozen, two max this morning, maybe 3 total this afternoon.

she seemed in higher spirits this eve, eating and drinking more. definitely drinks a lot. i took away her water for max 2 hours so shed eat more; I think it worked but I gave her water back to her. Just not liking how emaciated she is.

have to leave for the airport in four hours...bf's mom will be staying here for the week, giving her medicated water, checking on her bum, etc. etc. Last time we had a very sick bird (raccoon attack) she nursed her through the 10 days we were gone like she was born to do it, lol. if anyone can help red besides me, it's his mother.

will keep you informed what i get back. if she doesn't make it, I'll be sad to have lost my friendliest chicken, but glad shes not suffering anymore.

ps valbazen is MAD expensive! $57 for the 500ml bottle...though getting it immed vs. ordering online was highly convenient.

pps. gave her four, maybe 5 drops of valbazen from a pipette. hopefully it won't overload her system if she is riddled with worms.
