Tapeworms are back

Located in Syria, sadly the way people raise chickens around here has 0% biosecurity but I'm trying to do something different, I'm building up a large coop and gonna fence up some land and try to enhance the biosecurity inside my chickens farm but that's gonna take a month or so, meanwhile my chicks are exposed to all kind of things, even getting clean good quality feed is a challenge, there's no good vet in my city whenever I take a sick chicken to a vet all I get is guesses and I come back with absolutely no results so I've been trying to educate myself on diseases, this website has been a great help but it's pretty tough
So yep I would bet i can't get mycoplasma free chickens unless I get them from a whole different region
Thanks Ray. We'll help you out as best as we can.

Hello again!

My flock still struggling with tapeworms it seems the medicine I got didn't fully get rid of the worms, after deworming I put them all on Tylosin to treat the respiratory symptoms some of them are showing (mild symptoms, some sneeze a bit, some snore due to what I think mucous in their throat, runny nose) I had a 5-6 months old Hen going half paralyzed (She could walk but can't stand if she falls and her legs were wobbly) also she started showing respiratory symptoms (watery eyes and a tiny bit of gasping) I decided to cull her because I have no space left to isolate her and honestly I started losing hope on my flock anyways I culled her and another failed to thrive chick (he's 1/4 the size of his siblings and and he was struggling with a swelled watery eye) anyways I opened them up to see if i can find anything and everything looked normal until I opened the intestine only to find a bunch of tapeworms in there, I'm going to visit a far away meds storage today or tomorrow hoping to find some Praziquantel but in case I don't is there anything else as effective to get rid of tapeworms?
Any recommendations on what should I do? I'm planning to deworm again then probably have them on Tylosin after once more please let me know @dawg53

Note: the sick ones are around 5-8 out of 130-150 members in the flock they all eating like monsters and drinking even the most sick ones, hope I can help them recover, I'm tired!!! Lol

You have to eliminate the source of tapeworm infections which are insects. Insects are the host for tapeworms. Do your best to control insects. Keep in mind that not all insects are hosts for tapeworms. Perhaps you can give your birds Albendazole along with Praziquantel to eliminate tapeworms. Albendazole is used to treat human tapeworm infections. It may or may not treat poultry tapeworms. Here, it has lost its effectiveness treating tapeworms. Praziquantel is the drug of choice to eliminate tapeworms in addition to eliminating the source; insects.

It also sounds like you also have a respiratory disease in your flock, possibly Mycoplasma Gallisepticum (MG).
I recommend that you close your flock, no new birds in, none out. Do not sell nor give birds away and dont bring new birds into your flock. The disease can be passed through eggs. No selling nor giving away eggs to be hatched. You must close your flock. Eggs are safe to eat. MG is very contagious.
Tylosin treats MG, but doesnt cure the disease. Depending on the strain (mild or deadly), surviving birds will be carriers for life.

How can I eliminate insects from nature? My chicken free range so unless i lock them up they gonna eat insects unless I got this wrong

As for MG as I mentioned before there's no flock in my country without MG pretty sure all backyard flocks in my country are carriers

Please let me know if you think i should lock them up

Got my hands on some Praziquantel got 100ml what's the dosage please, do i add water when giving it orally using a syringe?

Hello again, I spent 4 hours dosing 150 chicks with Praziquantel yesterday hopefully that kills the tapeworms, gonna repeat in 15 days
However some of them going through respiratory issues, it's all mild they all eating and drinking but you can hear some snorting (mucous) some sneezes, i have 2 isolated hen and a rooster then are very energetic, the hen had watery eyes and the rooster sneeze and mscuous, they're not healing I tried Praziquantel and tylosin yet they are not getting better, it's been over 2 weeks since isolated them, they drink lots of water just to vomit it all up

The recommended dosage of praziquantel for chickens is 10 mg for every kilogram (or each 2.2pounds) of weight. This is from Plumbs Veterinary Drug Handbook. Since you can’t remove the intermediate hosts of tapeworms, it may be that you need to treat occasionally. Tylosin dosage is 5 grams (1 teaspoonful) in 4 liters of water for 3-5 days.
