I like 4 Health, from TSC. My Min-Pin was eating TOTW, but, the price just got to me. So, I did a "test feeding", TOTW in one bowl and 4 Health in a bowl beside it. Sugar was very pleased with the 4 Health and cleaned it and begged for more.
Okay..new plan..
What if i feed them half and half... The high prairie and the salmon one mixed together..
That way they wont too high a protein % with just the high prairie one.. and still get the healthy oils from the fish...
Ahhh.. i need help here..
Also..i'll need to supplement my male with that joint stuff ...glucosomine (sp?)... since they wont be on large breed food anymore.. because my male seems to be a bit limpy/sore at times...
Where do i buy that stuff and how much do i give him.. he's around 170 +lbs..
Does that stuff even work anyways??
I would mix the two. Not sure about supplementing with glucosemine. Hopefully someone with a large breed will give input on that.
The TOTW foods do have Vit E added and have omega 3's and 6, which is good for the joints, heart, and skin. Not sure if it is high enough to act as an antiinflammatory.
I think you and your dogs will be happy with the change. I know I like it and my dogs LOVE it. They love it so much that I use the kibble as treats for good behavor and/or training.

Thanks! I think thats what i'm going to do.. mix the two.. just to be safe about the high protein.

Search on-line for Glyco-Flex. My vet put my golden on it and she is feeling a lot better. It was really expensive from the vet, but it's on-line for about half the price. It's a more natural product as opposed to the pain meds. they prescribe. It is actually less expensive than the other stuff you can get at the pet stores. The MegaFlex might be similar, not sure.
