Now seeing another post I am thinking they aren't????

WHAT are they??

This picture was from they were a week old. They are now almost 3 weeks and all this time I thought we had RIR's

Why are you thinking they are not?

I cannot really see them well enough to tell.

Maybe New Hampshire reds? Still look a little light though...do their feathers have darker banding? Or are they consistently light?

red sex links! i know it. too light to be rir, too light for production reds or cherry eggers, and the chipmunk markings give it away.

Here they are today at 3 almost 3 weeks

TSC!!! They just crack me up. I am ok with them not being RIR's but wow, they have no idea do they??

TSC always gets "assorted reds" and from that bin I have gotten 2 RIR cockerels and one red-sexlink pullet.

If your TSC employee though that all red chickens are RIR, I wouldn't be one bit surprised

Ok, now I can see them better.

No, not RIR's. But, if they are Golden Comets (sex links) those lay really really well, and you will be happy with them.

I think the feed stores don't always know.

It is sort of like the humane shelter--everything little is a terrier cross, and bigger dogs are a shepherd cross if furry, and a lab cross if black and short haired...

I have never had a hatchery mess up though.
