Thanks. =)

That Cochin is so cute! They don't like it very much they scratch in the mud & look up at me like,"Hey fix this!" My geese do but they look like heck cuz the drakes are getting mud all over them! I have two female geese & two drakes I am getting ducks soon for them.

Thanks. =)
I like your avi.

Hi Tea! Hope you're feeling better by now. There are some teas that can help. Throat comfort from Yogi, sleepy time throat tamer from celestial seasonings come to mind. There is one from traditional medicinals that also helps, but the name escapes me. They all have licorice in them, so if you are not a fan it won't taste too nice. It's worth a try, though.

I'll check those out. My throat gets sore some times, so it would be prudent for me to keep some tea on hand for it. IDK why I didn't think of that before.
Yes, it's feeling better now. Thanks. =)
No, I'm not a fan of licorice, but I'll keep it in mind if the other suggestions don't pan out. Thanks!!! =)

What cute babies!! I haven't talked to appliances yet. I think I would definitely scare my family

Thanks. =)
Nah, it doesn't scare mine. Well, DH knew I did that when he married me over 15 years ago and the rest of them I gave birth to, so they don't know any different (i.e. like Mom might be a few leaves short of a full bag).

Oh, here's a pic of the fish tank:

The fishless cycle seemed to really pick up once they got the ammonia-eating bacteria to start really doing their job. They did all the tests and it was ready, so DH took the boys to get fish the other day. They got a Blue Gourami, a long-finned zebra Guppy, a (something) Cory Catfish, and five Neon Tetra (one of those turned up dead this morning).

Your boys must be so excited to get new fish! Don't worry if you lose a fish or 2 in the beginning. It may happen sometimes. But the fact that a hardy neon tetra died must be from stress, not from ammonia imbalance. It's funny that in my fish tanks, guppies never did well with other fish. They were the first to die. I might have been doing something wrong all along, but they were never a beginner fish IMO. They like slightly more alkaline pH than the other fish you have and I had a lot of luck keeping them as the only species in a 10 gallon. I had beautiful males of all different colors. Their beautiful tails were chewed by other slightly bigger fish, so I transferred them to a fish tank of their own without gravel, The plants were in tiny pots and the pH raised. They blossomed. From that time on, I only raised guppies separately.
I love your fish tank. Looks so pristine! Best of luck with your new fish!

I'm happy you're feeling better! I just remembered pomegranate. It's great for the throat. IDK if you can find pomegranate throat spray at your local health food store, but if you can, it helps a lot. I got one sent to me from abroad. It is pomegranate and propolis. You might try the fruit or 100% juice. It might help.

I got teenagers... at this point, whatever mom does that's a little out of the ordinary will trigger the "OMG, mom, what are you doing?" mode. But I have to confess I have a lot of fun with their reaction to my antics

If they only knew their reaction is an incentive to me...

My son is the mature on in the house.
I was raised in a very controlling environment.
It was the 'hold your breath and exhale when you grow up' type of home.
My teacher said I was the only thirty year old middle schooler they'd ever met.

I am grown up now, so I figure it is time to enjoy my youth.

I don't dance in public, but...the kid has to witness a lot of this:

He rolls his eyes a lot.

:lau that's the same with parrots they do really crazy things to get your attention no matter what kind of attention negative or positive.If you really don't like what their doing your best chance of them stopping is by completely ignoring what they did,that way they got nothing out of it.They are very mischevious. :D Sorry every conversation with me ends up about birds.

I feel ya on that. My childhood changed about every 2-5 years, and it wasn't the most ???, shall we say healthy environment for a child.
I thought I would be able to enjoy my youth when I grew up, but no, I married a very straight-laced fellow and we're raising the children right (according to him mostly, and me too when I feel strongly about something that he disagrees with, like chickens lol).
Anyway, we'll see when I get to enjoy my youth. lol
My DD says, "You're weird." a lot. Same as the eyeroll.
