Teaching chickens to catch mice???

I had 200 or so game hens that used my garden as a walk in the winter. I plowed my garden with a David Bradley walk behind tractor in the spring, and there was always a cloud of hens following my plow and looking for grubs, but every time I uncovered a nest of little pink mice, well the cloud of hens, she became a blizzard and the feast was on.

The only issue I see with trying to use chickens for mouse control is that mice are active while chickens are asleep.
If mine see a mouse in daylight they go after them with no training or prompting.

It cracks me up when people are talking about how friendly their birds are..... a chicken would eat you if you were small enough. They are tenacious and merciless predators.

Go back and read past posts from little Bo Peep chicken herders who were amazed when their hens tried to eat their red painted toe nails right off of their tootsies like they were corn on the cob.
