Teaching ducks to use the ramp

My ducks don't use the ramp, so they don't go into the coop unless I put them into the coop. They like going into the coop though cus they don't fight it.

The food is inside the coop, and they only eat when I put them in the coop to eat. How can I teach them to go up the ramp on their own? I'm afraid they are not eating enough.

I place them on the ramp near the door and then walk into the coop. But if I place them on the ramp (say in the middle of the ramp) a bit farther away from the door they just jump down to the ground.

I've tried putting tasty treats on the ramp...but the chickens just eat them before the ducks can.

Is my ramp to steep for them?

As long as it has slats for them to grip they are fine. Most ducks want to stay outside as long as they can and refuse to go in. I found it handy to temporarily put up two barriers on the sides of my ramp and walk them through it.

I have a ramp going to my ducks pool..At first they wouldnt go near it I put them 1 by 1 on it gave a push they started to walk up them into the pool now they go running up and jump..Just keep showing them they will get it..It is alitte steep...Here is my pool ramp..

You need something on there for traction. My ducks had a hard time, so I put a rubber mat on the ramp to help them out. Your ramp does look steeper than mine though, I wouldn't rule that out... (I know my ducks aren't always smart and leap off the edge of the ramp before getting to the bottom).

I used a cement patio block on one side of the pool and an old piece of wood on the other. They took a few days to figure it out. They really didn't need a ramp. Just needed a step. Also, because they float when they're in the pool, they have no problem getting out as long as the pool has plenty of water. Try a step of some kind. It seem more secure to them than a ramp.

you can't see it in the photos but the ramp does have little notches in the wood, it's old siding wood and it made to look like panels. If you can imagine what it looks like.

My chickens walk up it no problem.
