. mellissamerry, you are so devoted to your ducks and I enjoy your posts, photos and videos. I do envy the green grass your bare feet are on though. Still have snow on the ground here and my Khakis were plodding through it today in search of the bare ground we had one day last week!

We've had such perfect weather here all week. Such a nice change from the rain. The ducks have never seen snow before... How do yours take it? I might make a trip up to the mountains and take them one weekend before it all melts!

Can the Adventure Ducks fly? They are so llittle compared to Soleil! I was just wondering of you have to pinion them or not.

Oh they can fly. I've clipped their wings once already. They're just about done molting so I'll need to do it again soon. The wild ducks are coming by a lot and I know they're curious.

Hah that is so cool! I wondered first time I saw them because they are too small to be a pekin but they don't have short call bills I figured they must be white mallards they look exactly like the pics I've seen. I would love to find some someday :)

Mine take the snow quite well as they did grow up with it so were able to gradually adjust to winter. However, when it is too deep and very cold they like to stay on the pond (I have a spring-fed pond that doesn't freeze over which is a real blessing). It is melting and soft now so they have no issue with walking around in it. It would be interesting to see what your cute little ducks would do if you suddenly plunked them down in it. I wonder if the temperature and cold on their feet might be a bit of a shock to them without them being able to gradually adjust. But they might really enjoy it especially if you find a place where it is soft, not too deep, and the sun is shining on it. Be sure to post photos if you take them "snowshoeing"!

We are diligently and patiently working on bringing the stick back.
Here is a short clip to show you our progress.

They won't bring the stick back though...just other objects. I call that progress!
