I didn't realize it was supposed to tie into Alien, but apart from that, I liked it. It left a lot unanswered. I thought they were supposed to have another one, but I don't think they ever did anything with the idea.

Alien Covenant is the follow up, I didn’t care for it and thought they could have done a much better story.
