Amber got her beak filed down again this morning. She was the best she ever was during beak filing this morning. I candled (took a bright light and set it under her bottom beak to see where the quick was) her bottom beak and filed it first. She didn't scream at all. In fact, she was perfectly calm and quiet as I did her bottom beak. Then I did her top beak, and she was good during that too. There was no accidents with the filing either.

Sorry, but I didn't take any before and after pictures this time. In the quote below, I have before and after pictures of the first time her beak got filed. I'm using just regular emery board for finger nails currently because she's a chick. @JustBabyMargo (she knows a lot about crossbeaks) suggested me using a grinder on her beak to trim her beak down. At her age, I don't want to use the grinder on her beak yet, but if your's is an adult, I'd suggest that.
Update on Amber:

This morning Amber got her beak filed down for the first time today. She did excellent when I did her top beak, but she gave trouble on her bottom beak. She chirped a lot and didn't like me doing her bottom beak. :(

Amber escaped today. :th

That is her very first time of her escaping and I was shocked. I literally picked her up and said, "Amber! How could you?" Of all my pullets who are or could fly out, Amber as my least expected. I would of easily expected someone like Lilac to, but not Amber. Then on top of things when I spotted her out (I was catching Macy who was apparently being a bad influence on Amber because she was out too), there was a young cat who was near her! So not only was she out and away from her food and water, she was in a dangerous situation!

I'm happy that Amber was perfectly ok, but upset that she had escaped. I really hope she doesn't make a habit of escaping like Victoria and Macy has.
