I live in MA and heard about his passing during a Red Sox game. I don't watch the news everyday, I spend more time on BYC than I do in front of the TV, so I get most of the daily news from Random Ramlings

Quite a bit of coverage here in Ohio, but not overwhelming really.

I have a lot of respect for him and for the whole family. None of them are/were perfect, but who among us can really cast stones? I know not everyone liked him or likes the family in general, but they have a history of public service that in unsurpassed IMO. Most of them could afford to sit on their bottoms and do nothing, but their family traditions lead them to public office and public service as they see it, agree or disagree with their politics. That's something that isn't always an easy thing, on either side of the political lines, and he did it with a lot of grace and kept on good terms even with his political enemies. I admire him for keeping camaraderie high while still taking care of business that seems to be a lost art in these malicious and contentious times.

Mary Jo Kopechne would have been 69 this year....

We all answer to someone in the end. Don't worry he will have too~ i personally believe in redemption. maybe his duty to this country was part of it. Well at least i hope it was....LOL

I couldn't either. I just change the channel.

I’ll search for what is good, and leave bitterness to others. I’ll look at a lifetime of good works and be thankful, leave judgmental words and retribution to god. With cause, I’ll be cautious, but try to find possibilities, instead of malcontent.

Ted Kennedy was a human being, like all of us. We all make terrible mistakes and wish we could take them back. Ted Kennedy spent a lifetime working for all of us, trying to make life better for all of us. In education, health care, immigration. He found a way to work with all people, any color, Republicans as well as Democrats. He found a way to become friends with all.

You've heard the testimonials, you saw all the people that came out to pay their respects. I believe that we lost a good man and Senator. Prayers and comfort to Mrs. Vicky Kennedy and the whole Kennedy clan.

Uh huh and the man was a letch. If it walked and wore a skirt, he was chasing it. I received an award from him (he was the guest presenter

) in Miami and it made me want to hurl just standing in the same room with him. Plus, I lived down the road from the Kennedy Complex in Palm Beach and saw too much of the man in public settings. Disgusting little man.
