I love my teen chicks trying to determine who is the top girl... I've got a black maran and a japanese bantam that are 4.5 weeks old, and they are constantly trying to determine position. The bantam is so much smaller than the maran, but it doesn't matter. She will jump up on the perch, (which gets her almost to the height of the maran) and puff out her chest. Then they jump at each other, flapping and screaming. Its really funny to watch! My 3.5 week partridge rock is the same size as the bantam, but doesn't participate in this behavior yet. The actions really get my GSD excited, and its a good thing she has to stay behind gates as I think the prey drive really kicks in with those sounds and actions. Anyway, its a fun distraction from this crazy isolation going on
