"teen" roo trying to mate with my hand...

Blue walks up, puts his wing down and shimmies and shakes and coos,,, and looks all studly and handsome lol,, then gets so disgruntled when he's dangling upside down. I'll tuck him under my arm and carry him around after that.

Since we're comparing roo behavior, my hand raised roo developed a passion for my slippers. He would start to do the side dance toward me and I would toss my slipper off my foot, he would grab hold of the rubber, center piece that goes between the toes and go crazy. He didn't care if it was the slipper for the right or left foot, as long as it was my slipper. He has hens now and I bought a new pair of slippers!

LOL! Maybe I should give him my shoe and see what happens

It also helps if you pick him up and carry him around under your arm for a while, it sort of 'puts him in his place'.
Several of my hens regularly crouch down, tail up, as though they were being mounted if you stroke their backs. As we have 4 huge and over-enthusiastic cockerels. I guess they have been accustomed to any approach from behind being one of the big boys!

I am so glad to read this...our roo has been doing his side shuffle, dropping his wing, and making cooing noises at me...more recently he will peck at me...he only pecks at me once, and then he looks confused? and he doesn't peck at me aggressively, almost more like he is curious? he is an adolescent...we are going to give him a hen in a few days
