You did the right thing! I would have done the exact same thing in your shoes when I was your age. Do not feel bad. We raise our own birds and have to kill the extra roosters and it is a very grave thing. You really have to be ready to kill an animal, and if you are not ready to do it (or be a part of it) there is no shame in that. I think you have learned a very important lesson from this and you have gained respect for food animals. The class wasn't all bad.

I think what you did was very brave.

You did what you felt is right. That is a very hard thing to do when both peers and teacher were doing something you did not agree with.

Because of the time frame I assumed it was a Cornish X.

If I'm right, I think her "saving" it was the only actual cruel act.
