our four older ladies are in their own coop and religiously give us three eggs a day. yesterday, when i collected eggs i got three normal eggs and one tiny, teeny egg (see photo). checked back later that night and found one more little egg. our rir is old (approximately 5 yrs.) and we don't think she is laying any longer. could it be her? everyone else is between 1 yr and 3 yr.

side note: we recently lost a bo and our slw. so the ladies in the coop are 1 bo (2 yr. old), 1 br (2 yr. old), 1 arucauna (1 yr. old), and 1 rir (~5 yr. old).

Each of my black Australorps laid those "pullet eggs" right before she went broody.
I don't know if that's the norm, but that's what happened here.

I got a couple of those right before mine started laying. they are funny. i got a hollow one once too
