Teflon coated heat lamps killing birds!

These poor folks had 7 hens drop dead in their coop suddenly after changing their heat lamp bulb! Please be very careful and do not use shatter resistant bulbs. Teflon fumes kill birds very quickly!

Spread the news, tell everyone! Lets avert more tragic deaths! DO NOT BUY TEFLON COATED BULBS. I believe the ones they used inadvertently were work shop bulbs.

I didn't even know such a thing existed! I know the dangers of cooking with Teflon coated pans indoors with caged birds. How awful to lose your birds to such a mistake. Thanks for bringing this up.

Thank you for posting this! I did not know that about teflon bulbs. That is terrible.

I was keeping up with the original thread and would’ve never guessed Teflon because I had no idea it was toxic (though it seems like everything is nowadays!). I just bought a new Teflon pots and pans set last month and will be getting rid of those now. Anything that can kill birds that quickly is not something I want to use to cook my food on.

Yep, teflon has been around a long time and here we have been breathing in all that toxin for so long!
