I am very tempted by the adorable Buff Brahma chicks currently available at my local Tractor Supply. And the adults are so gorgeous. But how is their egg production? Do they lay more than Silkies (mine haven't laid yet and they're almost a year old. Still love them though!) and Cochins? How do they compare in egg production to popular dual purpose heritage breeds like the Buff Orpington or the Wyandotte?

Well, I've got two BB girls... bottom line, they aren't very good layers :(

It's really a shame, they're such pretty girls, I wish they laid well. I'm still keeping them though, they have such a sweet personality!!!

They probally do lay more than silkies or cochins, but IDK I've never had them breeds before. Mine will be 1 year old in April, and they haven't laid a single egg yet!!. So, I'd say to get them (if you have the space and all) because their sweet disposition makes up for their lack of egg production ;)
