Tell me about your Crested ducks :D

Ok.... originally I thought these were the UGLIEST SILLIEST looking ducks ever... BUT, I keep seeing these pics of these ducks with their bouffant dos and I can't help but fall in love....

So please, tell me about these guys and gals and please... PICS are encouraged!!!!!!

I may also be looking for some eggs in the spring

I have crested rouens. She is great and very nice. She is not noisey either. Here are some pictures of her.

Mating crested to crested will give you 50% crested, 25% non crested but crested gene carriers and 25% die in the embryo because of deformities. (head,skull).

What you should do is mate crested with non crested and you get 50% crested and 50% non crested but carriers.

Theya re awsome ducks and I want to try to improve my crested rouens. She is laying but i really don't want to hatch ducklings in the middle on winter.

Hi!
I used to think crested ducks were 'just wrong', now I lovelovelove them!
I have 5 crested girls like this one with a non-crested drake.

And I have another pen with this double crested drake and non-crested girls.

I'd think a flock of double crested ducks would be a sight to see!

They'd make a lovely pair --- Dub and Miss Sunshine.
I need to get new pics, those are from back in June and I think his crests have gotten bigger.

I need new pics also, but she was sooo clean in this one I use all the time. Right now with all the snow and mud, she is not very pretty to look at. VERY bad hair days!!
