Tell me about your speckled sussex

I just added 2 chicks to my flock- we think they're hens. I've read a bit about the history- but I'd like to hear some personal experiences with the breed. Picts are good too. Thanks!

we ordered 2 SS from McM but one died, so we only have our little Mary, but I can say she is one of our favorite chickens. So sweet, very gentle and just beautiful. We wouldn't mind have 10 more just like her.

Very sweet birds, constantly underfoot. Good layers.

Are these 'egg-a-day' layers like RIR, Rocks, Orpingtons?

They are just so stunning! I can't wait until mine are running around the yard. So- is their olor pattern considered "speckled" or are they mille fleur? Either way- I got my fix for the red/white/black.

My sister has some. One was bought as a 1y/o. She lays 'when she feels like it'.

She hoping to get more from the others she has. I like them nonetheless. They're really attractive hens!
