Don't trust it. Lots of people have varying advice on how to raise a roo (give him lots of love vs give him the cold shoulder). I don't have any firsthand experience, but I do know you won't see the final product till he's sexually mature. I had a sweet hen turn on me the moment she started laying eggs, taking on the role of the rooster. It was literally overnight! She put a hole in my hand while I was handling another bird.
Yeah he's still way too young to know how he'll end up. Even if he doesn't want my attention as he grows up, if he's good to his hens and not aggressive towards me, I'm good with that. Fingers crossed for you though. d'Uccle males are very striking and it would be nice to have a cockerel that can't do serious damage with his tiny little legs!

I am so afraid of spiders, lol. I don't mind most bugs, but I just can not with spiders. My neighbor and friend had this rooster one time who just loved her, and he would bring her gifts. Once she was squatted down amongst the chickens, and Kraven brought her a giant, still alive wolf spider and dropped it on her leg. She screamed like a mad woman, lol.
