Hello there!
I have wanted chickens for so SO long and I believe the time has finally come, I just don’t know where to start, I believe I have a good space for a coop/run but beyond that . . . 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would like to know where to start with baby chicks, already hatched, I know where to get some. I plan on having 4-6 chickens. And I don’t have a lot of indoor space to keep them warm/ let them grow

Any help is appreciated! I found BYC by accident through google and I’m so glad I did!

baby chicks need to be kept warm(indoor or outdoor as long as heat is adequate) until fully feathered out. You will have to find what will work best for your limited space. There are many different options to choose from and each have their own benefits/pitfalls.
Have fun!!!

:welcome :frowDepends on were you are .There are simple tools that take a lot of the guessing out of brooding chicks .There are starter kits with feeders and waterers and heat lamps and a little guide book . TSC carries a lot of chicken supplies and chicks this time of year .Get a chick thermometer ,with the temperature guide for the age of the chicks .
Good feed clean water heat at the proper temperature ,for the age of the chick. They grow fast so you have to stay on top of things .They can fly enough to get over the side of a storage tote easy in three weeks .I must warn you raising chicks can become very addictive.Be careful
