Absolutely excited about free..cause if it's free, it's for me. I've even become a curbside shopper. It is truly amazing what people will throw away. What's the old saying, " One man's trash is another man's treasure." Congrats on the wood and I am jealous!!
Not to worry - you are so NOT alone on your excitement about the great 'wood find'. My husband is a woodworker and
repuroser extrordinaire. He now has a great local rep as the man to call when someone has an old shed or out building,
barn, etc. that has heart pine and/or very old boards as we use them to rebuild a two story farm house on our property
that burned several years ago ( all that was left was a 'hull' that needed to be rebuilt and DH has been rebuilding the
structure from the inside out with all repurposed/reclaimed materials. We even found a never used Jacuzzi tub with all
the fixtures at our local recyle store and snatched it up ( currently sitting in the dry in a shed behind the house sitting up
on cinder blocks ) until such time we're ready to put it in our 'new' bathroom in the 'farmhouse'. DH and I are constantly
amused as over the last 21 years we've been married we've been homesteading, consciously living in a sustainable manner
and almost NEVER buying anything new unless it can't be found/located used. Looking forward to pix of your new structure.
T&G = Tongue and Groove, Good Stuff! I have a newer vinyl window for the chicken door on my coop, people always comment "that's a spendy window for a coop" but nope it was free! Gotta love the free stuff
Prolly gonna head out and start taking nails out soon...luckily they are on the edges and pretty loose...Planning on building a addition off of my original 12X12 chicken coop, a batchlor pad for some extra boys and a few more nest boxes...I love having a contractor/roofer for a SD! He always puts professional really nice roofs on my coops too...Kinda funny to see all my repurposed little coops and larger barn with the house quality roofs on them
