Tell me why you raise quail?

I am wondering why so many people raise quail. If I get some good answers I might just try too.

So, why do you raise quail? Eggs, meat, pets, challenge?

Im going to be raising quail for the meat and eggs. Ya cant get attached to anything you are going to eat

Eggs and meat, and taxidermy specimens as well as live refrence. Plus I just enjoy raising them and incubating them.

Hatching is really really fun!!!!

I am just now getting eggs for from my first hatches that will be supper. Everyone one says how great quail taste. We will be barbecuing soon!

Grew up in the country, now live in town, and this gives me a way to show my kids a little about raising your own food.

And bite-sized pickled eggs!

Wow there are some great answers, but I have to ask, is it really worth the time and effort to pluck those little quail. They are sooo tiny.
I am just trying to understand so please bear with me.
I have chickens and they lay eggs and give meat.They are bigger and so when I process them I get alot of meat.
A quail at 4-6 oz. where is the meat?

I am not trying to offend, I just want to know.
