About Me: Getting older, not sure about wiser. Finally decided that I've earned all these gray hairs so the meetings with Miss Clairol have ended. My husband has always been my best friend and we do most everything together. Including raise chickens. We live in southwest MI, but have a small piece of property in Northern MI that we have started to develop so that *sooner or later* we'll be able to move there. Have 3 wonderful children, all grown who have given us their own wonderful families to be part of our lives. And can't forget about Lil Spanky, our 5 yr old, 100 pound Black Lab, like one of our kids. She has surprised us by taking our chickies on as her own babies and watches over them like a good mom.

How far back have you traced your ancestry?

I am very much into geneology too, and have traced my mother's father's family back to the 1500s somewhere's about, and my father's father's family back to 1560 in the Shenandoah Valley. I've read some amazing accounts and old letters!
 
Hey, I'm Kendal out of Tifton GA. I live on a 80 acre farm that grows some seasonal crops and home to 33 chickens. My papa is the wallet of our "hobby" but I take care of the chickens. i.e.- feeding, selling, buying, culling, hatching, and whatever else needs doing. I have to fit this in my busy schedule with cross country, swimming, and my art.


Chickabee,,,,,,, I can go back as far as 400 years on my moms side. Our family lived in Scotland and my great-great-great-great-great-great grandfether was beheaded for practicing Christianity.

About Me: Married for 11 years, have two children DD age 10, DS age 5. DH owns and operates his own semi and is gone Mon-Fri.

Live on 11.5 acres with a house that is about 6 years old and we love it. We have 17 layers and 35 pullets that should be laying any day. 4 dogs, 4 cats and 5 kittens, 3 goats, and 4 cows.

I have a huge garden and do a lot of canning and try to be a self sufficient as possible so the winters are not so hard on us.

I have been a certified dental assistant/office manager for 12 years at the dental office in our little town. I make pretty much my own hours and do a lot or work from home so I am available for my children.

We stay busy with our land and the animals. We also own a 5th wheel camper and try to take trips whenever we can afford the gas! We try to spend as much time on the weekends as a family being DH is gone during the week.

I guess that is pretty much it. We are pretty simple people.

About Me: I'm a tomboy but I have my moments of vanity, I grew up with horses, chickens, dogs, pigs, etc., I competed in rodeos for the better part of my childhood and young adult years, I thought I'd marry a cowboy but my husband is far from it, and after fighting the kid thing for my entire life, DH and I are expecting a boy on February 7th.
