In January of this year we pruchased a pair of 09 Temminck's for Chick Rich on eggbid. They arrived in late January very Happy and Healthy.

I have read as much as I can and according to all reports, they don't mature until the second year. I guess my hen never read the books, she's not quite a year old, but so far I have gotten 2 eggs this week from her. I know the ODDS are the male is still infertile, but I can hope can't I.

Anyone have this experience?

SURE always hope, and definitely incubate them. Unfortunately the odds are against fertility unless you had a 2 year old male with her, but hey who knows, like you said, some are illiterate! LOL

Most likely infertile. You can tell at 10 days old. I kept back 4 young Males this year and every one was infertile with the first clutch.
Once in a while you might get a fertile egg out of early hatched male, possibly on the second clutch, if she lays another clutch.
Temm. eggs hatch in 28 days. A
