This is my first time incubating chicken eggs. The directions on my incubator say Temp. 99.5 and humidity 50. Is that correct. I have hatched duck eggs before. The incubator is an R-Com Suro with a humidifier. It has digital settings.

i've read that days 1-18 humidity should be 35-50% then days 18-21 50-75%

When in doubt follow the manufacturer's directions.

99.5 degrees is standard. Humidity can be all over the map depending on who you talk to, their altitude, and their climate. Until you have good reason to do differently I'd follow the manufacturer's directions.

Well that sounds good. I have temperature at 99.5 and humidity at 50. Thanks for the help.
