Ok so my temp keep dropping every night to 98.some odd number. then i bring it back up 99.5 or some where around there. so how do i keep that from happening??? my second question issss about humdity. I have my humidty around 40% but every 2 hours it drops down to like 20% how do i keep that up?

I have a towel draped all around the bator, especially where the wire for the auto turner comes through, a full bator I hear holds temp better, and some have added smooth rocks or jars of water? i guess it helps stabilize the temp....humidity wise, I am trying the dry hatch method so that relieves alot of worry! day 18 send it up to like 65% i believe. Mine is holding at 30% on its own. What type of bator do you have? Its my first time, i am using a LG with auto turner. no fan. crossing my fingers! Good luck!

Well styrofoam incubators are very notorious especially with no fan, to fluctuate in temperature and humidity. The fan causes circulation and a more even constant temp. I have 3 GQF sportsmen incubators and I also have 4 Natureform's (saffari) Incubators.

Question answered !!

We have a LG with turner and fan. Being our first time, we had issues with Temp. We placed the incubator in the closet with a small heat lamp and a bowl of water, has kept the temps more stable for us., day 18 here.

i kept adding warm water with a turkey baster. also, read after the fact that you should not open the bator at all during the hatch, i opened it a lot to watch the first of the chicks hatch then panicked later.

i have LG Incubator, for me I find it very helpful to wrap an ace bandage around the entire bator where the lid and bottom of bator join. I can see a gap where air escapes. You can cover bator with a towel that might help for temp too. ~ Make sure theres water in bator for humidity, you can put damp wash cloths or sponge in bator also which helps humidity. If theres holes in top of bator, plug them or some of them it helps humidity. Good Luck *Need to have temp and humidity stable(very important) for a successful hatch. ~Julie~
