Temp and humidity settings

I post the below and thought I would add it here. I could not figure out a way to delete my other post.

I am fixing to try and hatch out some bob white quail and chukar eggs. I have attached a picture of my temp and humidity reading. I have been reading and trying to understand the humidity to make sure I have it set correctly. We have an old Dickie cabinet incubator to leave in until lock down, then I will move them to an old GQF model 1202 for the final few days. The reason is the Dickie is setup with automatic egg turner and the GQF does not.

We are hatching out bobwhite quail and chukar eggs. I found a PDF from GQF saying to have temps at 100 F and humidity 45-55% (quail) 45-50%(chukar) for the first 19 days. Day 20 stop turning and raise humidity to 55-65%. 88-90 F on wet bulb.

So my thoughts were to get to 100 F and 50% humidity since both type of eggs will be in there at the same time and then move them and raise to 60% or during lock down.

I have not put in any eggs yet just trying to get the temps right.

I just wanted to make sure what I am showing is pretty close. I know I need to drop humidity a little more. Just looking for some assurance I am headed in the right direction.

Any advice or anything would be great.

I think your about right on. In fact you dont have to raise humidity. A lot of people do "dry" hatch and do Very well. When the eggs start hatching humidity will go up anyway. 60% humidity would be fine though for sure. I just did my hatch and had a good turn out at 60 percent. Your right on though I see nothing wrong with your numbers.

Awesome thanks for looking at this. I got one incubator that does not seem to go over 97 degrees. I am hoping it is just my thermometer. It was the one I was going to use for lockdown. Thanks again for answering. I was hoping I was on the right track.

The gqf has 2 separate thermostats. The back up wafer thermostat is most likely what is keeping it from going above 97.

Open the main thermostat wide open then open the backup and set it at 102. Then adjust the main one for 99.5-100.

I have 2 gqf 1266s. (Same as yours but with the turners). They were setup for emu eggs and my thermostats were set low too.

Your settings sound just fine. I have used many thermometers and I have the same one you have. It's humidity is spot on but the temp got off by 2.5 degrees during the middle of my first hatch. It now reads 102 when it is actually around 99.5. I would double check your temp with another thermometer just to be safe....

Thanks for the help. I did end up adding another thermometer to check the one and found out we had a bad thermometer. I had a total of 3 and 2 read 102 while the other was at 97. I moved the thermometer to another cabinet and it did the same thing never got about 97.

Where did you get your doors at. Mine has the solid door and you can't see in. I don't like it since it is being used as just hatching and I would like to be able to see.

Mine came with it. You can order them through gqf but you need to call and verify that it will fit your exact model. They cost $100.
