So my lovely room mate turned the heat up to 75 in the house. I have been at work all day I got home checked the temp in the bator and it was at 103° how long can the eggs last in that type of heat? Most the eggs are on their 2nd week some their first and some got put in yesterday. Please give your advice! :)

not very long im afraid but wont hurt to keep and candle until the 10th day or so. just because the house was 75 doesnt mean the bator was hot for that long, it would have took time to get up there and i wonder if your thermometer is correct? seems like a big jump for 75the bator just wouldnt have cut on . think someone bumped the control?

My room is naturally warm with the bator there. The only way it could have been bumped is if someone unlocked my bedroom door. My bator is set for 99° so I'm assuming by turning on the heat that's what mad it go so high.. thanks for your help. :)

My particular brand on incubator is a still air (no fan) and the manufacturers instructions say to run it at a temp of 103. The temp is taken at the same height as the top of the egg.... As hot air rises, the middle of the egg will actually be cooler than the top, which means that it will be at the optimum temp for development.

All incubators are different though... and a temp of 103 in a forced air incubator can mean developmental damage or death if it is over a prolonged period of time. Unfortunately only time will tell how much damage it has done (if any).
