hi guys. i have a new hova-bator 1588. i ran it for a couple days before the eggs came and everything was great. but now that there are eggs in there and a bit of water (for humidity of around 35- 40%)...the temp is now running 101 (reading the regular thermometer). and my digital themometer reads 99.4 - 99.8 almost always. so i've been going by the dig therm. but now my dig them is acting weird. the temp lastnight when i checked on my eggs read 126! i about freaked!!! but my regular therm still read 101. so i'm guessing my dig is acting funny for some reason. but i guess i'm wondering if i should go in there and try to reset the temp on the bator (toggle the switch or whatever....try to follow the manufacturers directions) to try to bring the temp down a degree and a half? i'm nervous about messing with the switches when there's eggs in there....but i don't want to ruin the eggs at a too hot temp either. is 101 something to be concerned about?

First check the batteries in the digital thermometer. I can't see how the temp would go that high after being stable for some time. Unless was messed with. Until you are sure which is correct, don't change anything. It won't matter what you do until you figure out which one is correct now, fir a temp to be that high the eggs are done.

i'm going by the regular thermometer. it's brand new and it came with the hova-bator. of course my dig is new too.....but i've been checking lately and everything seems fine....who knows what the deal was with that thing. i candled my eggs this morning too....i know, it's only day 3......i wasn't expecting to see much....and i didn't .....but i did see a darker blob at the bigger end of each egg. and i didn't see that when i candled on day 1.
