Hello fellow hatchers!! My eggs are on day 6 in a STILL AIR incubator. I came home tonight and went to turn them and realized the temp on the thermometer was 108 degrees!! There is also a thermometer at the bottom of the eggs at 102.5, still a little high for it being at the bottom of the eggs. I have 30 eggs, and about 25 were fertile and growing just fine... Until today. Are there any others that had a spike this severe for a few hours, and if so, how was the hatch rate? Hoping for some good results this hatch. Thanks guys!

Temperature for still air incubators should be measured on top of the eggs, is this where your 108 degree reading was? Depending on how long they were at this temperature and how much the core temperature of the eggs rose, they could be perfectly fine. I've had some major temp spikes in still air incubators and managed to get a few live chicks out of there in spite of the mishaps. I'd say wait a few days and candle them and check.

Yes, the 108 temp was at the TOP of the eggs.
