Last night, my bator went wonky and I had a temp spike at 102.8 for at least 20 minutes before it stabilized...

You think I still have a good chance? I'm worrying now...

I read somewhere recently that eggs could tolerate 98 - 104 and survive fine as long as the extremes weren't held for more than 12 hours. Good luck, I hope they're fine!

Thanks.

The original thermometer in the bator had a small red circle for safe bating temps, it went from 100-105. I've never had a spike this high though and it's so close to the end, I just want something to hatch.

I agree, as long as it didn't stay high for a lengthy period of time, you should be just fine.

I wouldn't sweat that spike. I have gone up as high as 106 (don't know how long) but it had no ill effects on the chicks. I would probably be more worried about earlier temp spikes than ones in the later days. Happy hatching vibes being sent your way!
